Get ready for speed, image quality, and a professional build rolled into one fantastic body. The Canon EOS R3 mirrorless camera is the new king of the hill in the EOS-R series of cameras, and it is here to make a statement.

The first thing you'll notice is that the R3 includes a built-in vertical grip, the first in the RF-mount lineup to include that. Speaking of build, this tough magnesium body has the weather & dust sealing you've come to expect from Canon's professional camera lineup. It also has the beefy LP-E19 battery, giving you power for close to 450 shots (depending on settings).

In terms of image quality, the R3 uses a 24.1 Megapixel stacked BSI sensor, which means that rolling shutter is kept to an absolute minimum due to the high read speeds. And even though the number of pixels might not be as eye-wateringly high as what we're seeing in other cameras, Canon says this body actually out-resolves the EOS 5d MK IV! The back-side illuminated sensor improves noise performance, clarity, and color fidelity, especially in low light situations. We are absolutely blown away at how clean the files are at high ISO.

Now onto the speed of this body. Using Canon's latest DIGIC X processor, they've been able to bump the photo burst rate up to a breath-taking 30 fps at full resolution, INCLUDING full AE and AF! Truly pro-level performance. On the video front, you can shoot 6K 12-bit at 60 fps and 4k 4:2:2 10-bit at 120 fps internally. The HDMI output can do UHD or DCI 4K up to 4:2:2 10-bit 60 fps.

That speed carries over to the autofocus system, which includes such features as an improved Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system with 1053 automatic AF points, eye control AF, and low light peformance down to -7.5 EV.

Usability features include in-body stabilization (IBIS), WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS connectivity, a tilt and swivel 3.2" screen, USB C, an RJ45 plug for network connection, and dual memory card slots (CFExpress Type B and SD).
