The Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR is the first Nikon 24-70mm with vibration reduction. And not just some vibration reduction, mind you. This lens boasts an impressive 4 stops of vibration reduction, meaning you’re able to hand hold the camera and lens at shutter speeds where, without the VR, it wouldn’t be possible. The VR combined with the lens’s fast f/2.8 maximum aperture and extremely versatile 24-70mm focal length make this lens worth its weight in gold for wedding and event photography. The improvements don’t stop there, however. In addition to vibration reduction, Nikon has added a new lens element to the design with their new Aspherical Extra-Low Dispersion (ASP/ED) element which is said to increase sharpness and soften bokeh. Portraiture, landscape, events, weddings… you name it. This lens’s versatility is legendary.
