Sony shooters....this is as wide as it gets for full-frame E-mount lenses, and it is awesome. It has the latest optical design elements like aspherical and LD glass coated in the latest Nano AR coating for reduced flare and ghosting.

But what does it all mean?!? Well, we'll tell you this: It means great image quality. Great color, reduced color fringing, and better contrast.

One of the things we like best about this lens is how light it is. Sony went with an advanced thermoplastic for the shell material which is both strong AND lightweight. In our opinion, it's one of the best Sony lenses to run on a gimbal.

Speaking of shooting on a gimbal, Sony added a direct drive SSM focusing motor, which is precise, fast, and quiet. If you're shooting critical focus on a gimbal, being able to use autofocus is key, and this lens delivers in spades.

Note: the lens hood on this lens is built in, which means no filters. Please keep that in mind and be careful out there! This front element sticks way out there and is easy to scratch.
