Everyone likes it when the underdog wins, and that's exactly what's happened with the Sigma 35mm Art f/1.4. A solidly built lens with amazing optical performance, it has by all reports been sharper than the comparative entries by Canon and Nikon. We haven't been big fans of Sigma products in the past due to some quality variability between copies, but a lens like this makes us (and should make you) sit up and take notice. Plus, Sigma seems to have cured a number of their quality control woes. With equivalent AF performance to its competition, excellent distortion control, and great background blur (bokeh) this lens is definitely worth taking out for a spin.
