We think this is the holy grail of RED cameras to this point in time. It has the features, specifications, and size to be THE camera to beat in the sub 6-figure range. Strap in, kids. This camera is going to knock your socks off.

First of all, you'll notice that this is a full 8K camera, and can maintain that resolution up to 60 fps in high quality mode. Stunningly, it can do 8K 120 fps in LQ mode! Also of note is its ability to shoot 4K at highest quality up to 240 fps and 300 fps in windowed mode. 2K high frame rate comes in at a whopping 600 fps in windowed mode. For those of you keeping score at home, that's 25x slo-mo.

But it's not just fast. There's incredible image quality to go along with that speed. For instance, you get 16-bit REDCODE raw output via the 12G SDI outputs as well as an advertised 17+ stops of dynamic range. There's so much resolution on tap that RED themselves actually recommend using LQ or MQ mode unless you absolutely have to have the HQ shooting quality (they say it's best for F/X).

There are three HUGE features of this camera that stick out as being real game-changers for RED cameras in general. The first is the change to standard memory cards. In this case, we're talking about CFExpress Type B. Finally! No more overpriced proprietary memory cards. The second is an included V-mount battery slot. This comes standard on the camera instead of being an add-on plate. This helps keep everything nice and compact if you want to use it on a gimbal or otherwise just want to keep the overall size small.
