We are impressed by how small and light this lens is, considering its fast maximum aperture. We're also impressed by its image quality, which is likely due to the two extra low distortion elements and wide variety of optical coatings that Nikon uses to control chromatic aberration, ghosting, and flare.
The controls include a very wide multi-function programmable control ring that can be set to control a number of different focus and exposure functions such as manual focus or aperture.
