Details
Nikon has stepped up to the plate and come out swinging with their latest addition to the mirrorless lens catalog for Z mount. This standard-length lens has one of the most useful focal length ranges for general photography. 24-70mm zoom lenses are definitely the most popular lenses we rent.
This new design has all of the latest optical advancements, including four aspherical elements, two extra-low dispersion elements, ARNEO and Nano Crystal coatings. If you're not into all of the technical mumbo-jumbo, it basically boils down to this: you're going to get excellent optical performance out of this lens. In addition to the optics, Nikon have also improved the autofocus accuracy and speed via the use of two separate stepper motors.
The coolest part of the Z mount lenses (in our humble opinion) has to be the use of a programmable control ring, which you can use to change any number of functions of your choice, including manual focus, exposure compensation, or aperture. Another neat addition is the use of an OLED info panel to show you exact focus distance. No more fumbling around in the dark to see if you're at infinity focus for night sky or fireworks photos.

- Nikon Nikkor Z 24-70mm f/2.8S lens
- LC-82B Front Lens Cap

An improvement over the Z 24-70 f/4
By Alex on 9/9/2020
I had recently bought a Z series camera with the native 24-70 f/4 and wanted to try the f/2.8. It's certainly a sharper lens than the f/4 and the extra stop of light comes in handy. I'm not going to buy the f/2.8 since the f/4 is quite good for my needs. However, i'll rent it from here whenever the need for a faster 24-70 arises.
