Let's face it...sometimes you don't want to hassle with changing lenses and need one optic that seemingly "does it all". If so (and you shoot a Nikon DX body), then this is your lens. No, it does not have the same optical quality as a Nikkor 24G, 35G, or 85G. But that's not the point. This lens has an absolutely mind-blowing 16.7x zoom ratio! Perfect for walking around on vacation or anyplace where you can only carry one lens. Plus, it has Vibration Reduction (VR), so you don't have to worry so much about camera shake at that super-long 300mm. It is a worthwhile upgrade to the older 18-200mm VR, and definitely worth renting for special trips or to try it before you buy it.

PLEASE NOTE: This lens is a DX lens, and works best with any DX body. Some FX bodies allow you switch to DX mode to be compatible, but it is your responsibility to know whether or not it is compatible with the body you'll be using.
