The latest version of GoPro's action camera adds some great features and performance to an already proven platform. Namely, you get the improved Hypersmooth 2.0 image stabilization, giving you impressively stable footage right out of the camera. If you've ever seen shaky action cam footage, you know how it can almost be unwatchable. With this feature, all of that smooths out and makes you look like a professional camera operator with a gimbal. GoPro also updated the design of the body itself, giving it a folding mount for ease of use, and a new battery door for much faster battery changes. There is also a modular accessory port that allows you to attach accessories such as external lights, microphones, and other helpful add-ons, which GoPro is calling "Mods".

As for shooting modes, you get a whole host of options. The camera supports up to UHD 4K resolution, a full HD slow motion mode at 240 fps, and still photo capture of 12 Megapixels at up to 30 fps. The 2" touchscreen LCD on the rear makes changing settings quick and easy.

Note: Even though GoPro rates the body alone as "waterproof" up to 33 feet, we don't recommend taking this camera underwater without the dedicated dive housing (see related products below). Based on past experience, it's just too easy to have a battery door slightly ajar and kill the camera when it goes in the water. Please plan accordingly. Sorry for being so mean about it.
