When you need close-up photos or video from the XF system, this is the lens to reach for. You can focus on something as close as 8.9" and get true 1:1 life size reproduction.

There's a handy focus limiter switch on this lens, allowing you to use it in one of three ways: a) Strictly as a close-focus macro lens, b) Strictly as a medium-to-infinity focus telephoto prime, or c) Full range focus, allowing you to jump from close subjects to ones further away without changing any settings. Options A and B can drastically reduce the autofocus hunting of the lens, allowing it to grab focus as quickly as possible.

An aspherical lens element within the optical design package helps keep the image field flat, a critical consideration when shooting macro. You also get 5-stop optical image stabilization (OIS), helping to reduce or remove any blurring caused by camera movement or shake at the time of exposure.

Please note: When powered off, the focus lens group "floats" within the lens barrel. This leads to some knocking or clunking sounds when moving the lens. Rest assured that the lens is not broken.
