While not *technically* a necessity for shooting macro photography, focusing rails are the #1 accessory we recommend when anyone asks us about shooting small stuff. They make your life so much easier by allowing fine adjustment of the lens-to-subject distance via a knob, rather than moving the whole camera/lens setup.

This head is a joy to use, with incredibly precise movements possible via the geared adjustment knobs, and no play in any of the pieces. The manufacturing is top notch, and incredibly worthwhile.

You get 14mm of Left-Right adjustment and 44mm of Fore-Aft adjustment, allowing for perfect focusing. The head mounts to any standard 3/8-16 tripod, or even to an existing head with an optional 1/4-20 bushing (just ask us for this).
